My side of the story...

Okay, to be fair to me...I went to the store to get something sweet for my girl (as requested). When I arrived at the store, they were out of the specific item that I was looking for. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the cobblers. I thought to myself, "We like cobbler, this will work!" Well, as I approached, there was a little sign beckoning, "buy one get one free". I thought to myself that since they are giving away free cobbler, it would irresponsible to deny the free item. Well with cobbler, you need ice cream. I picked up small Blue Bell Ice Cream individual size and realized the calories (170). So I went to the "Double Churned Low Fat". Only 100 calories per serving, pretty good. It only comes in a one gallon size. Long story I know, but I had to justify myself. After all, its all for baby.

Sweets...

Ever since we starting telling people that we are expecting, certain individuals have been trying their best to get me to give into my addiction with sweets. Eric and I don't keep a lot of junk food around the house, but lately he has convinced me that it is imperative to have dessert...every night. Really I think he is exploiting the situation. Especially when you consider that a pregnant woman really only needs an additional 200 calories a day - that is the equivalent of a large glass of juice. The other night he came home with two cobblers and a pint of ice cream. The week before, pumpkin pie.

Today, a good friend of ours, we will call her Amy H. to protect her identity....wait, too obvious. We will call her A. Horton, decided to leave an entire one pound bag of Reese's Pieces on our door step with careful instructions to feed the manatee (Eric thinks the baby looks a little sea creaturish). Thanks to all my enablers out there!

As per my friend Lora's request, I am posting a 3 month belly pic. Check back in a few weeks where, if you look carefully, you are bound to see the faint outline of an entire bag of Reese's Pieces, half a pumpkin pie, assorted desserts and whatever else has snuck into our home before the 4 month picture.

Our little one

Most of you have heard by now that we will be expecting a little one in May! We are beyond thrilled and feel like God has answered our prayers. We have known each other for over ten years and have been married for about four and a half years. We look forward to sharing our lives with you during this special time!

Starting out...

Since all of our family and many of our friends live in different cities, we decided to start a blog to share our experiences with those who are so far away. Besides, I think we may be among the last of our friends to actually have a blog! Please bear with us as we learn the ins and outs of blogging!
