As you can see, Liam was not particularly excited about his first day back at school after being home with me for the entire summer. In the weeks leading up to his start date, I began talking about how much fun he was going to have with all his new friends and his new teacher. But he kept protesting that he wanted to stay home with me and Ansley. However, despite his trepidation, he did not shed one tear when I dropped him off at the "hug zone" at school. Parents are not really encouraged to come into the classroom for a long goodbye. They prefer a brief goodbye at the approved zone to lessen the child's anxiety.
When it was time to pick him up from school, I arrived early to spy on him. He was playing with a little blonde girl and they were taking turns whispering to each other during story time. So cute! But I have a feeling that he is going to be a handful when it comes to girls as he gets older! I will definitely feel a wide range of emotions when the time comes for Liam to go to elementary school one day.
